Summary/ Plot
The book of Esther is a book in the Old Testament of the Bible.
In this tale of triumph Esther becomes queen and saves her people, the
Jews. After King Xerxes banishes
his wife, Queen Vashti, he looks at many young virgins to make his new bride.
Esther won the favor of the King and became the new Queen.
In the meantime, the king’s most trusted advisor, Haman, begins a plot to destroy the Jews throughout the kingdom. Mordecai, Esther’s cousin, hears of Haman’s plot and tells Esther to approach the king and save her people. Esther hesitates but decides to throw the king and Haman a banquet where she told the king of Haman’s plan to kill the Jews. The king was filled with anger and disgusted with Haman. The king had Haman hanged and the Jews celebrated. Mordecai was decorated and honored by the king and he became second answering only to the king.
